Question : Delay in Joining Letters

(a) whether the Government is aware of incidents where students who cleared SSC examinations have not received joining letters even after a year;
(b) if so, the details of the number of candidates who cleared the examination but were not offered jobs and the posts they were promised, State-wise;
(c) the estimated date by which such candidates would receive their joining letter;
(d) the number of ST, SC, OBC and PwD candidates out of the total number of students who cleared the examination but were not offered the job; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to compensate for the loss of time and money of such students?

(a) to (e): The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts examinations for recruitment and sends the nomination of the successful candidates to the concerned Departments/ Organizations who had reported the vacancies.

Thereafter, Appointment letters are issued by the concerned Departments/ Organizations after following due procedure. However, the data regarding the candidates who could not join the post even after clearing the examination conducted by SSC, is not maintained centrally.
