Question : LOAN BY RRB TO FARMERS



(a) the number of small farmers of Scheduled Tribes and backward classes in Madhya Pradesh to whom loans have been given by Regional Rural Banks during the last three years; and

(b) the extent to which the Government has achieved success as a result of measures taken by the Government to remove the difficulties being faced by farmers in getting loamfrom RRBs?

(a): As per information furnished by NABARD, the loans given by RRBs to persons belonging to SC/ST in the last three years in the State of Madhya Pradesh is as under:

(b): RRBs have been successful in enhancing the outreaich of the financial system besides providing loans to individual borrowal accounts. RRBs have also financed 4192 Self Help Groups (SHGs) during the year 2004-05 and cumulatively provided financial services to 17678 SHGs in the State.
