Question : ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO STATES



(a) whether the Government has increased the share of States in central taxes from 32 per cent to 42 per cent as per the recommendations of the 14lh Finance Commission;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the amount sanctioned/proposed to be sanctioned to the States during the fiscal year 2015-16;

(d) whether Government proposes to work out a new formula for allocation of amount to the States; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Yes Sir.

Government has accepted the recommendations of the 14th Finance

(b) Commission to enhance share of states in the divisible pool of central taxes & duties from 32 per cent to 42 percent.

(c) The total amount of 523958.24 crore has been allocated to the States in the Budget Estimates for the fiscal year 2015-16.

(d) The Government has also accepted the horizontal distribution of total devolution to States as recommended by the 14th Finance Commission and

(e.) accordingly allocation to the States would be made in the award period (2015-20).
