Question : VVIP SECURITY



(a) whether the Government have set up a Committee to review the security arrangement for VVIPs;

(b) if so, the details of observations/recommendations made by the Committee;

(c) the criteria laid down for providing the security cover to VIP and VVIPs;

(d) the number of Delhi Police personnel deployed for VIP and VVIP security in Delhi;

(e) the expenditure made on this account during each of the last three years; and

(f) the decision taken on the bunglows provided to VIPs on the ground of security ?

(a)&(b) The security of VVIPs constantly remains under review.
(c) Security is provided to individuals on the basis of perceived level of threat as per the assessment of Security Agencies. In case of VVIPs, security is provided to them as per the guidelines contained in the `Rules & Instructions` for their protection generally known as Blue Books.
(d) The number of Police personnel deployed for VIP & VVIP security in Delhi keeps on varying depending upon the number of protectees & the ground requirements.
(e) The Expenditure incurred by Delhi Police & SPG on security of VIPs & VVIPs in

(f) MHA have decided not to recommend allottment/retention of Government accommodation on security considerations in any case .
