Question : EXPERT GROUP UNDER FORESTRY PROGRAMME



(a) whether the Government has constituted an Expert/Advisory/Working Group to plan, guide and support implementation of an integrated National Forestry Database Management System (NFDMS) to ensure continuing an effective dissemination and use of forest statistics;

(b) if so, the suggestions given or recommendations made by the said group so far;

(c) whether the Government has prepared blue print for the development of NFDMS; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir.

(c) & (d) The Government has constituted an Expert/Advisory/Working Group to plan, guide and support implementation of an integrated National Forestry Database Management System (NFDMS) to ensure continuing an effective dissemination and use of forest statistics. The Expert Group has already held its first meeting and has proposed detailed Terms of Reference for Information Need Analysis, Functional Requirement Study, National and Regional Workshops and Capacity Building Programmes for the preparation of Blueprint towards the development of National Forestry Database Management System (NFDMS).
