Question : Implementation of Projects under AMRUT

(a) the district-wise details of the projects being run in various States of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar and North-Eastern States including Assam under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT);

(b) whether the Government has any mechanism for monitoring of the projects launched by various municipal corporations and other bodies;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme was launched on 25 June, 2015 in 500 selected cities. City-wise details of the projects being run in various States and Union Territories (UTs) of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar and North-Eastern States including Assam under AMRUT are given at ANNEXURE-I.

(b) & (c): In order to fast track the implementation of the Mission, its progress has been periodically reviewed with States /UTsand monitored through regular video conferences, webinars, workshops etc. by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs .There is a dedicated AMRUT portal for tracking the progress of projects. States/ UTs are required to update data on the portal on regular basis. Implementation of projects at field level are assessed and monitored by Independent Review and Monitoring Agencies (IRMAs), appointed by each State and UT.
