Question : Free Coaching to Minorities

(a) whether the Government is providing free coaching facilities to the students belonging to minority communities in the country including North Eastern States;

(b) if so, the number of coaching centres where coaching is provided to such students; and

(c) the amount allocated by the Government to the coaching centres for this purpose during each of the last three years and the current year?

(a) : Yes, Sir, Ministry of Minority Affairs has been implementing a scheme namely “NayaSavera- Free Coaching and Allied Scheme for the candidates/students belonging to minority communities” under which free coaching is provided to students belonging to six centrally notified minority communities i.e. Jain, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi, Muslim and Christianall over the country including North Eastern States through selected/empanelled coaching institutions/organisations for preparation of qualifying examinations for admission in technical/ professional courses and competitive examinations for recruitment to Group ‘A’ , ‘B’ and ‘C’ services and other equivalent posts under the Central and State governments including public sector undertakings, banks, railways etc.
(b) : During 2017-18 & 2018-19, total130 coachinginstitutions/organizations have been allocated various coaching programmesfor providing free coaching to minority students/candidates at 183centresscattered all over the country including North Eastern States.
(c) : The details of funds allocated under the scheme during last three years and current year are given below:
