Question : INCENTIVE FOR EXPORTERS

(a) whether the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) scheme has been extended;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons for extension;

(c) the response received from such extension;

(d) whether there has been differences between the Ministries of Finance and Commerce and Industry regarding the provision to be included in proposed Foreign Trade Policy; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons for delay in announcement of the new foreign trade policy and incentives for exporters?

d) & e): The Foreign Trade Policy announcements are done in consultation with Department of Revenue. The annual supplement (2013-14) to the Foreign Trade Policy (2009-14) has been announced on 18.4.2013. Notifications and Public Notices of DGFT and CBEC have been issued on 18.4.2013. hence there has not been any delay.
