(a) Sir, State-wise number of accounts opened and the total amount deposited under Sukanya Samridhi Yojana across the country since the introduction of the scheme are as under:

(b) No target has been fixed under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. Whereas the scheme has shown a great success and total 1,39,85,442 accounts has been opened till June 30, 2018 securing an amount of Rs 25,979.62 crore in the name of girl children.
(c) The Government takes various steps from time to time for successful implementation of the Scheme. The scheme is implemented by all Post Offices, all Public Sector Banks and certain private sector banks. Online deposit facility in Sukanya Samriddhi Account is extended and minimum amount to be deposited for opening of account has been reduced from Rs 1000 to Rs 250.
