(a) & (b): Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945 have exclusive provisions for regulation, quality control and manufacturing of Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathic (ASU&H) medicines under license. Central Government makes and amends these provisions in consultation with the respective Drugs Technical Advisory Board following a stipulated procedure and the State Governments are responsible to enforce these provisions including grant and renewal of license for manufacturing ASU&H medicines. As of now, Ministry of AYUSH in collaboration with National Informatics Centre, is developing e-aushadhi portal to introduce online licensing system for ASU&H medicines manufacturers in the states.
