Question : NON-DEPOSITION OF GPF AND PENSION CONTRIBUTION

(a) whether any complaints regarding non-deposition of the GPF and Pension amount collected from the workers employed in various mines of Coal India Limited in the office of CMPF have been received by the Government;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the reasons for not depositing the GPF and Pension amount of the workers in the office of CMPF and the details of the amount not deposited; and

(d) the action taken by the Government on the said complaints?

(a ) to (d); Some loss making subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd had some arrears towards Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation on account of provident fund and pension. However retiring employees were regularly paid their dues. As reported by Coal India Ltd., no current dues except some old disputed amount and interest liability are pending.
