Question : Funds for Development of Fisheries

(a) whether the Government is giving a special package or has allocated and released funds to various States for the development of fisheries during each of the last three years and the current year;
(b) if so, the details thereof, Statewise including Karnataka; and

(a)to (c) : Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) on Blue Revolution: Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries with the following components:
(i) Development of Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture,
(ii) Development of Marine Fisheries, Infrastructure and Post Harvest Operations,
(iii) National Scheme on Welfare of Fishermen
(iv) Strengthening of Database & Geographical Information System of the Fisheries Sector,
(v) Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) and other need-based Interventions,
(vi) Institutional Arrangement for Fisheries Sector,
(vii) National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) and its activities,

Under the CSS on Blue Revolution scheme, financial assistance is being provided to various States/UTs including Karnataka for overall development of fisheries sector. During the year 2018-19, Prime Minister Special Package for Bihar was also sanctioned to Government of Bihar with total outlay of Rs. 27954.93 lakh including central share of Rs. 10249.596 lakh was approved and Rs. 4078.691 lakh has already been released to the Government of Bihar for the activities such as Fish seed rearing, Construction of new ponds, Magur hatchery, Prawn hatchery, Housing of Fishers etc. State-wise details of the funds released during the past three years and the current year (till date) under the CSS Blue Revolution including Karnataka is annexed.
