(a) whether the Law Commission has suggested that the mode of executing death sentence namely `hanging` be replaced by `lethal injection`;
(b) if so, the reasons given for the said replacement; and
(c) the time by which an amendment to the relevant provisions of Criminal Procedure Code is likely to be made?

(a) to (c): The Law Commission has informed that it has recently taken up the study of the method of execution of death sentence. The study is still in progress. As and when consultation paper is finalised, it will be circulated to all concerned, Bar Councils, leading lawyers for inviting their views on it.
