(b) the current status of NIT Meghalaya vis-a-vis other branches;

(a): The funds allocated to each of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) during last three financial years are enclosed at Annexure.

(b): NIT Meghalaya is at present functioning from its temporary campus located at Laitumkhrah, Shillong with following branches of Engineering under UG, PG and Ph.D. programmes :-

Under Graduate (UG) Post Graduate (PG) Ph.D.

Currently 930 number of students are enrolled in various branches of study in the Institute.

(c) to (d): State Government of Meghalaya had provided land at Sohra, Shillong for the establishment of the permanent campus of the Institute where construction of building works have already commenced and is under various stages of completion. The Ministry of Human Resource Development from time to time releases grants to NIT Meghalaya to meet their expenditure. The Ministry of HRD has also sanctioned the requisite number of faculty and non faculty positions to the Institute for its smooth functioning.
