(c) whether all the routes of the country connected by Air-bus services are running in profit; and

(d) if so, the details of the routes with their income?

Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF CIVIL AVIATION SHRI SHARAD YADAV)

(a): No, Sir.

(b): Indian Airlines` available fleet of A320 aircraft is currently fully deployed and spare capacity is not available to consider increase in A320 operations between Delhi and Bhubaneswar.

(c) and (d): Deployment of aircraft on various routes depends upon the traffic demand and availability of aircraft from time to time. No specific allocation of aircraft is made on a particular route.

As per the provisional figures, out of the 61 domestic routes operated by Indian Airlines in the first quarter of the current financial year, 45 routes earned cash surplus. This is despite increase in the price of ATF and other input costs.
