Question : UNSAFE BUILDINGS



(a) whether there are several unsafe buildings in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi;

(b) if so, whether any survey has been conducted to find out the number of unsafe buildings in the NCT of Delhi;

(c) if so, the details and the outcome thereof; and

(d) the corrective measures taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c): New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has conducted a preliminary visual survey in its area for identification of private dangerous building, in which 14 buildings were listed as dangerous buildings. The details of the buildings found dangerous are as under:

(i) B-44, Malcha Marg, New Delhi.

(ii) 31, S.P. Marg, New Delhi.

(iii) 7, Panchsheel Marg, New Delhi.

(iv) Regal Building (Rear portion & Top Portion), Connaught Place.

(v) Scindia House (Rear Portion), Connaught Place.

(vi) Pump House, Near Birla Mandir, New Delhi.

(vii) South India Club, Mandir Marg, New Delhi.

(viii) 31, Jor Bagh, New Delhi (Rear Portion).

(ix) 43, Jor Bagh, New Delhi (Rear Portion).

(x) 1/172, Jor Bagh, Local Shopping Centre, New Delhi (Rear Portion).

(xi) Marshal Houser, Hanuman Road, New Delhi.

(xii) Shop No.36, Sarojini Nagar Market, New Delhi.

(xiii) Shop No.41, Sarojini Nagar Market, New Delhi.

(xiv) Shop No.125, Sarojini Nagar Market, New Delhi (Barsati Floor).

(d): The South India Club Building has been demolished and re-constructed. Other building authorities have been directed to take corrective measures.
