Question : Modernisation of Stations

(a) whether the Government proposes to modernize and enhance facilities at Bagaha and Narkatiaganj railway stations of Valmikinagar and at Valmiki Tiger Project and Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram which are major tourist centres;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the details of allocations, if any, made by the Government in this regard;

(c) whether the Government has received any request or proposal from the State Government of Jharkhand in this regard, and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the action taken by the Government thereon?

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. Modernization (Provision of new station building and circulating area) of Bagha and Narkatiaganj Railway Stations have been taken up as a part of Sagauli-Valmikinagar (110 Km) doubling project of East Central Railway. This project was sanctioned in the year 2016-17. Sanctioned cost of the project is ?1216 Cr. So far, an expenditure of ?516 Cr. has been incurred on the project. An outlay of ?125 Cr. has been provided for the current financial year 2021-22. Bhitiharwa Ashram is a halt station in Amolwa - Gaunaha section. Passenger amenities on the station as per railway scale have been provided as part of Jaynagar-Darbhanga-Narkatia Ganj-Bhiknatori Gauge Conversion project. Presently, there are no Railway infrastructures at Valmiki Tiger Project.
