Question : Time duration for COVID-19 Vaccination

(a) the number of people that have been vaccinated, State/UT/dose-wise;
(b) the time taken to vaccinate first 50 crore people among vaccinated 100 crore people;
(c) the time taken to vaccinate the second 50 crore people among vaccinated 100 crore people;
(d) the reasons for the delay to vaccinating the rest of the population in the country; and
(e) whether the Government has published advertisements or posters informing vaccination to 100 crore population free of cost and if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e) As on 30th November 2021, about 123 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across the country, out of which 78.63 crore (83.7%) beneficiaries have received atleast first dose and 44.62 crore (47.5%) beneficiaries have completed their vaccination schedule. The State/UT-wise details of vaccine doses administered is at Annexure-1.
The first 50 crore vaccine doses were administered in 203 days while the second 50 crore doses were administered in 76 days.
The number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in India are amongst the highest in the world. The National COVID-19 Vaccination Program is progressing at a steady pace and the vaccination coverage has improved significantly from an average of 2.35 lakh doses per day in the month of January 2021 to an average of 78.69 lakh doses per day in the month of September 2021. Adequate doses to vaccinate all eligible 1st dose and due 2nd dose beneficiaries aged 18 years and above by December 2021 have been made available to State/UTs.
As part of the Information-Education-Communication (IEC) activities, Government of India has undertaken all measures to ensure dissemination of correct and scientific information on the Covid-19 vaccination program across the country, through advertisements, posters, hoardings, citizen friendly upgradation of Co-WIN, establishment of 24x7 national call center to address queries from general public on COVID-19 and the vaccination process etc.
