(a) & (b): The Group of Ministers (GoM) on Reforming the National Security System, inter-alia, recommended that Internal Security (IS/Counter Insurgency (CI) duties should be entrusted to Central Reserve Police Force and the Rashtriya Rifles and Border Guarding Forces should be reverted to their primary role. With the augmentation of Cental Para Muilitary Forces in a phased manner, it would be possible to replace BSF deployed on IS/CI duties for their primary role.
