(a) whether the Government proposes to replace all the
defunct Multi Access Rural Radio (MARR) Village Public
Telephone in Madhya Pradesh;
(b) if so, by when the said work is likely to be started;
(c) the number of M.A.R.R. to be replaced during the year
2005-2006; and
(d) the places in Vidisha district where M.A.R.Rs are in
working condition or the places where they are not working?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. The work of replacement of the Multi
Access Radio Relay (MARR) based Village Public Telephones
(VPTs) is already in progress.
(c) It is planned to replace 9,905 MARR based VPTs in
Madhya Pradesh during the year 2005-06.
(d) 30 MARR based VPTs are working in Vidisha district of
M.P. The details of the places are given in the Annexure
