Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

(SHRI PRAMOD MAHAJAN)

(a), (b) and (c): Union Government encourages development/promotion of the use of local language software with objective of spreading IT to masses. This is done by way of promoting requisite language technologies through various Research & Technology Development projects. Recently Resource centres for Indian Language Technology solutions have been set up covering all the official languages under constitution. State Government can benefit from the technologies thus developed. They have separate State level scheme to percolate IT literacy to masses.
