Question : Rajiv Awas Yojana

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION be pleased to state:

(a) the State-wise progress made in respect of construction of houses and rehabilitation of slum dwellers under Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojana during each of the last three years and the current year;
(b) the State-wise details of funds earmarked/sanctioned/released for the said purpose during the current Five Year plan:
(c) whether the States have achieved the targets set for construction of houses and rehabilitation of slum dwellers under the said programme;
(d) if so, the Sate-wise details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): The details of state-wise progress made in respect of construction of houses under Rajiv Awas Yojana during each of the last three years and the current year is at Annexure-I.

(b) : The State-wise details of funds sanctioned/released for the said purpose during the current Five Year plan is at Annexure-II.

(c) to (e): In pursuance of Government’s vision of facilitating housing to all by 2022, the Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Housing for All (Urban) Mission on 25.6.2015 for assisting the State/UT Governments in providing housing for the urban poor including slum dwellers.

The Government has discontinued Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) and subsumed in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-Urban) the liabilities created under such RAY projects where work had started on ground within 31.03.2015.
