(a): Yes, Sir. National Informatics Centre(NIC) has released a
software package `PAO-2000` for computerisation at the Pay &
Accounts Offices (PAO) of Government of India.
(b): The software package enables PAO Offices to process bills,
compile accounts, exercise budgetary control, bank reconciliation,
printing of cheques, prepare reports for the expenditure and
receipts, General Provident Fund, Pension amount authorisation,
submission of accounts in electronic format to the Controller of
Accounts of the Ministry.
(c): The software package is to be implemented in various Pay and
Accounts Offices in the Central Civil Ministries of the Government
of India.
