Question : EXPENDITURE UNDER NRDWP



(a) the names of those States which have spent more than 60 per cent funds released to them under National Rural Drinking Water Programme during each of the last three years;

(b) whether the Government proposes to release additional funds to the States which have spent more than 60 per cent funds released under the said programme; and

(c) if so, the details thereof indicating their names?

(a) As per the data entered by the States on the online Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of the ministiy the States which have spent more than 60 per cent of the funds released to them during each of the last three years are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, M.P. Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tripura.

(b) & (c) As per NRDWP guidelines there is no provision of releasing additional funds to States. However, additional funds under National Rural Drinking Water Programme are given to the States in the month of March of the financial year after taking into account the available saving , proposals/requests received from the States , capacity of the States to absorb more funds, expenditure trends etc.
