(a): Yes, Sir, the CD Ratio of Scheduled Commercial Banks in Kerala is lower as compared to some of the States
in the country, although, it is higher when compared to that of some of the other states.
(b): With an objective of having uniform economic development, banks have been advised to achieve a CD Ratio of 60%
in respect of their rural and semi urban branches on an all India basis. Also, there has been, among others, regular
discussion on CD Ratio in the various fora under the Lead Bank Scheme such as, SLBC, BLBC and DLRC meetings, to improve
the CD Ratio in the State as a whole.
