Question : Zero Defect Zero Effect Scheme in MSME Sector

(a) the total number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that have started to follow the manufacturing patterns as provided in the guidelines of the Zero Defect Zero Effect Scheme;

(b) whether the National Monitoring and Implementation Unit (NMIU), i.e., the Quality Council of India (QCI) has been following the guidelines on a consistent basis; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a): More than 22,288 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have registered themselves to take up Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) manufacturing under ZED scheme.

(b)&(c): The Quality Council of India (QCI) have organized Industry Awareness Programme, training for Enterprise Capacity Building, training of officials of implementing agencies, Consultants/Assessors/Master Trainers’ training. Online Self-Assessments, Desktop Assessments and Site Assessments have carried out and ZED ratings have been awarded as provided for under scheme guidelines.
