(a) the rate of duty imposed on the import of materials/equipment which are required for drip irrigation in the country at present item-wise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to waive import duty on drip irrigation materials, equipments to encourage farmers to use drip irrigation; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Sprinklers and drip irrigation systems for agricultural and horticultural purposes and micro irrigation equipment attract basic customs duty (BCD) of 5%.
(b): There is no such proposal to waive basic customs duty on drip irrigation systems.
(c): Does not arise in view of reply to part (b) above.
