Question : ACCREDITATION OF SCHOOLS



(a) whether the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is considering to start school quality assessment and accreditation and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the CBSE has made it mandatory for all schools to get themselves registered within three years of its introduction and if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the CBSE is also proposing to form a committee in which 12 private agencies and the Government would be involved in the said project; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had earlier decided to implement School quality assessment and accreditation programme in CBSE affiliated Schools. However, the Curriculum Committee and Affiliation Committee in its meetings held in March 2015 decided to review the affiliation guidelines to incorporate the quality assessment and accreditation programme in Affiliation bye-laws.

(b) to (d): Question does not arise.
