Question : GSPL Gas Pipeline Project

(a) whether Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board awarded Bhatinda-Jammu-Srinagar gas pipeline to Gujarat State Petronet Limited a subsidiary of Gujarat Government to ensure proper supply of LPG for commercial and domestic use in Kashmir; and
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the time limit fixed for completion of the said project including the current status of the project at present?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM & NATURAL GAS (SHRI DHARMENDRA PRADHAN)
(a): Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) on 07.7.2011 has authorized Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL), a subsidiary of Gujarat Government, to lay Bhatinda-Jammu-Srinagar natural gas pipeline to ensure supply of natural gas for industrial, commercial and domestic use in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. Subsequently, PNGRB has transferred the authorization in favour of GSPL India Gasnet Limited (GIGL), a consortium comprising of GSPL, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.
(b): A maximum period of 36 months from the date of issue of authorization has been allowed for commissioning of natural gas pipeline. So far GIGL has completed the route survey and Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) and has notified 460 km out of total 720 km under Section 3(1) of P&MP Act, 1962 for acquisition of Right of Use (RoU).
