Question : ACTION ON MOLESTATION INCIDENT IN KERALA EXPRESS TRAIN



(a) whether competent authority initiated any action on the molestation incident in Kerala Express (Train No.2625) after Mathura Station on October 31, 2002;

(b) whether a prompt complaint to the train superintendent by the aggrieved failed to bring any respite to the helpless family;

(c) whether there are complaints from the passengers that policemen indulge in molestation in the running trains;

(d) whether aggrieved family filed a complaint with railway police; and

(e) if so, action taken and details thereof?

(a) to (e): An incident of misbehaviour with a lady passenger in Kerala Express has come to notice.

Inspector General of Police (Railways), Uttar Pradesh, Luknow has informed that GRP/Mathura has registered a case vide crime No.298/02 U/S 354 IPC and 145 Railways Act dated 19.11.2002 against 5 Civil Police personnel of Mathura and 3 accused persons, who were being escorted by them for misbehaving with a lady passenger.
