Coal Companies do not employ workers indirectly. However,
contractors engaged for certain jobs in turn deploy their workers.
(d): The employees and their families have been extended various
facilities like housing, water supply, medical care, sports and
games, cultural activities etc. Welfare Boards consisting of
representatives of the management and trade unions are functioning
at Apex level at CIL and at company level to oversee these
activities.
