Question : INSURANCE COVER FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY ANIMALS



(a) whether there is any proposal under the consideration of the Government to provide insurance cover for the damages caused by wild animals;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the insurance cover is proposed to be uniformally implemented across the country; and

(d) if so, the details of the progress made in this regard?

(a)&(b) No, Sir. There is no proposal under the consideration of the Ministry for providing insurance cover against the damage caused by wild animals. However, the Ministry has issued guidelines for payment of ex-gratia relief to the victims of depredation by wild animals.
