Question : AMENDMENT IN MCI

(a) whether the Indian Medical Council Amendment Act, 2001 has been framed by the Union Government;

(b) if so, the major provisions of the rules;

(c) if not, the stage of formulation of the rules under the Act;

(d) the time by which the rules are likely to be ready/framed; and

(e) the time by which the Act is likely to come into force?

(a)to(e): Yes, Sir. Regulations as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2001 are being framed by the Central Government in consultation with other concerned Departments.
