(a)whether the Government is considering a proposal to set up urea
manufacturing plants in West Asian countries in joint ventures between
Indian Public Sector Companies and foreign partners;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c)whether the Government proposes to make available Urea a less than the
indigenous price of the product manufactured in the country; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): The Public sector undertakings Rashtrya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF)
and National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL) and the Multi-state cooperative society
KRIBHCO which are under the administrative control of Department of
fertilizers are exploring the possibility of setting up commercially viable
joint venture projects for manufacture of nitrogenous/ phosphatic
fertilizers in countries rich in raw material resources.
The price of urea from joint venture projects will depend upon the price
of the feedstock.
