Question : Gram Panchayats Nominated under SAGY in Maharashtra

(a) the number of Gram Panchayats nominated under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) from the year 2019 in Maharashtra, Member of Parliament (MP)-wise alongwith its current status;

(b) whether the number has increased at present, if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Targeted Development Goals have been achieved in the State of Maharashtra, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the contribution of the Union government in implementation of rural development schemes in Maharashtra since its inception?

(a)&(b): Under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana(SAGY), 79 Gram Panchayats have been nominated from the year 2019 in Maharashtra. The details of SAGY GPs, Members of Parliament wise is given in Annexure-I

(c ): SAGY programme has been conceived as a convergence programme which works on the basis of planning and dovetailing of various government schemes in the adopted Gram Panchayats. As such there are no targets fixed for this programme.This programme leverages the leadership capacities of Hon’ble MPs in planning and execution of the programme. This programme is based on the vision of the MP and the aspirations of the adopted Gram Panchayats. In this programme Village Development Plans(VDP) are prepared by the Gram Panchayats and approved by the district authorities in consultation with the concerned MPs. The details of the VDPs of this programme are available on the SAGY web portal on https://saanjhi.gov.in/

(d): The Union Government allocates budgets, sanctions funds, formulates policies, and guidelines for effective implementation of Rural Development schemes in the whole country including Maharashtra. The Ministry also undertakes periodic assessments of the physical and financial progress achieved by the States/UTs.
