(a) whether his Ministry has completed the process of construction of new airports at Deoghar in Jharkhand and at Katoria in Banka district of Bihar;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the time by which air services are likely to start from both the said airports?

Statement in reply to parts (a) to (c) of the Starred (*) Question No. 73 for answer on 20.07.2017 regarding ''Construction of Airports''.; ; (a) to (c): Airports Authority of India (AAI) has signed a Tripartite Agreement on 24.03.2017 with the State Government of Jharkhand and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for development of Deoghar Airport. As per the agreement, 582.21 acres of land has so far been acquired by the State Government and handed over to Civil Aviation Department, Government of Jharkhand. Commencement of air services is a decision of the airlines depending upon traffic demand and commercial viability etc. ; There is no proposal with Government of India for development of airport at Katoria in Banka District of Bihar.;
