Question : Ayurveda Colleges cum Hospitals

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of Ayurveda Colleges cum hospitals in the country, State-wise including Kerala;

(b) whether AYUSH hospitals have been empanelled under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) for the benefit of the patients adopting AYUSH form of treatment;

(c) if so, the details thereof, State/UTwise including Kerala;

(d) the other steps being taken by the Government to create more awareness about the benefits of Ayurveda treatment;

(e) whether the Government has included AYUSH under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY); and

(f) the amount sanctioned for the development of Unani across the country including West Bengal during the last three years?

(a): Details are as per Annexure-I
(b) &(c): No, AYUSH hospital empanelled under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) as yet.
(d): The Ayurveda National institutes under the M/o AYUSH provides the best quality treatments and medicines which is dispensed free of cost. Every effort is made to promote ayurvedic treatment through their Inpatient department and OPDs in their hospitals and also by organizing specialty camps, community health programmes etc.




The Ministry also observed days dedicated to AYUSH systems of Medicine viz International day of Yoga, Ayurveda Day, Unani Day, Siddha Day Naturopathy Day Homoeopathy Day etc to create the awareness about the respective AYUSH system of medicine including Ayurveda.

(e): The Ministry of AYUSH has suggested to bring Ayurveda Yoga & naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoepathy (AYUSH) systems of medicines under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme along with various packages for the day care and hospitalization expenses to national Health Authority (NHA). However, at present there is no proposal by National Health Authority to include any Ayurvedic Yoga, Unani, siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) treatment packages in the current package list of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM- JAY)

(f): The details total amount that has been sanctioned for the development of Unani medicines for last three years including West Bengal is as per Annexure-II.
