Question : DEMOLITION OF UNAUTHORISED CONSTRUCTIONS

(a) whether the Hon`ble High Court of Delhi in its order dated March 13, 2002 has directed the DDA/MCD, Government of NCT Delhi to demolish all such unauthorized constructions that have come up on the NH-8 in violation of NHAI norms lest they assume alarming proportions;

(b) if so, whether the Radisson Hotel (Mahipalpur, Delhi) situated on NH-8 has come up in violation of NHAI norms and is constructed within 50 meters of the National Highway No.8; and

(c) if so, the reasons for granting permission for constructing a Hotel by NHAI authorities and the action has been taken/proposed by the Government to demolish the said Hotel and other unauthorized constructions situated on NH-8?

(a): DDA and MCD have reported that Hon`ble Delhi High Court has directed to remove unauthorized constructions that have come up on the NH-8 DDA has passed 137 demolition orders against unauthorized structures along NH-8 falling under its jurisdiction.

Department of Road Transport & Highways have reported that all unauthorized constructions within the Right of Way on the NH-8 in the state of Delhi have been removed.

(b)&(c): Department of Road Transport & Highways has reported that Raddison Hotel is situated beyond the Right of Way (60 meters for Delhi).
