Question : DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES



(a) the details of schemes implemented by the Government for the development of new and rene- wable energy sources;

(b) the quantum of financial assistance provided thereunder during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise and scheme- wise;

(c) whether the Government proposes to extend financial assistance to Non-Governmental Orga- nizations (NGOs) and individuals also under the schemes and if so, the details thereof;

(d) the action taken by the Government to promote the installation of solar panels along with fina- ncial assistance extended for solar energy during the said period, State/UT-wise;

(e) whether the Government proposes to launch more projects and programmes for use of solar energy and if so, the details thereof; and

(f) the details of agreements signed with foreign countries and companies for production of such power along with its likely impact on power gene- ration in the country?

(a): The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing various schemes/progra- mmes for the development of new and renewable energy sources. The details of these schemes/ programmes are given at Annexure-I.

(b): State-wise details of Central Finance Assi- stance (CFA) provided to different states inc- luding companies implementing renewable power projects during the last three years and current year is given in Annexure-II.

(c): The programme-wise details of Central Financial Assistance (CFA) available under different programmes of the Ministry to agencies, organizations, NGOs and indivi- duals are given in Annexure-III.

(d): MNRE is providing 30% capital subsidy on solar lights and solar pumps.

The details of fund released as subsidy during the last three years and current year. State/UT- wise is given in Annexure-IV.

(e)&(f): MNRE has proposed to scale up Grid Connected Solar Power targets from 20,000 MW to 1,00,000 MW by 2022. The target includes 40,000 MW rooftop solar photovoltaic, 57,000 MW large solar projects and 3,000 MW have already been installed. MNRE has organized 1st Global Renewable Energy Investors Promo- tion Meet (RE-INVEST 2015) during February 15-17, 2015 in New Delhi. As part of RE-INVEST 2015 initiative, 387 companies/firms (both private and public sectors) have submitted Green Energy Commitment Certificates (GEC), aggregating to about 270 GW power generation capacity during the next five years.
