Question : Anti India Activities

(a) whether some students and miscreants raised anti-national slogans and made provoking statements without any permission in the Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) campus, New Delhi against the execution of the convict involved in attack on the Parliament;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the students of aforesaid University have often been found involved in naxal and other anti-national activities;

(d) if so, the details of such cases reported during the last three years and the current year; and

(e) the steps taken by the Government to check the recurrence of such incidents in the University in future?

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. A case vide FIR No. 110/16 dated 11.02.2016 u/s 124-A/34 IPC, Police Station Vasant Kunj (North), Delhi has been registered in this regard. Three accused persons have been arrested in the case so far. Further investigation is being conducted.

(c) & (d): A few instances, attracting disciplinary action, have come to the notice of the University.

(e): As and when any information/complaint in this regard is received, proper legal or administrative action is taken, as warranted.
