Question : DEDUCTION FROM SALARY FOR PENSION



(a) whether any deduction is being made by the Coalfield India Limited from the salaries of its employees in various subsidiaries for the payment of pension;

(b) if so, whether pension is being paid to the retired employees regularly;

(c) if so, the details thereof;

(d) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the steps being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) : Yes, Sir.

(b) : Pension is being paid to the eligible retired employees who have applied for the same and whose applications have been found in order.

(c) & (d) : Out of 4770 complete applications received in the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation, pension is being paid in 1929 cases. Claims of remaining eligible persons are under various stages of processing .

(e) : The Government is alive to the problem of timely pension settlement and it has set a time bound programme for settlement of all pending pension cases.
