(a) whether the Railways have any new freight policy;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether automobiles, ash and other items have been included under the new policy;
(d) if so, the details thereof;
(e) the time by which the new policy is likely to be implemented; and
(f) whether private agencies have also been involved in the new policy?

(a) to (f) Yes, Madam. A policy to permit private operators to run Special Freight Train for commodities
such as automobiles, vegetable oil, molasses, chemicals and petrochemicals and bulk traffic like fly ash
and cement etc. is under formulation and the same will be notified shortly.
