THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI SACHIN PILOT)
(a) to (c) TRAI in its recommendations on ââspectrum Management and Licensing Frameworkâ
dated 11th May 2010 had recommended that the 2G spectrum beyond contracted spectrum (viz 6.2
MHz for GSM and 5 MHz for CDMA) to be paid for at the âcurrent priceâ. They further recommended
that the 3G price be adopted as the âcurrent priceâ of spectrum in the 1800 MHz band and 1.3
times of âcurrent priceâ in 900 MHz band. Subsequently TRAI has informed this Ministry to
await further recommendations on current pricing of spectrum in the 2G bands.
