(a) whether the Union Government have set up any Training Institutes/Centres in the country for manufacture of Gold Thread which is an essential part of the silk industry and play an important part in the promotion of export of silk;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) Union Government has not set up any training institute/centre in the country for manufacture of gold thread (zari). However, Central Silk Technological Research Institute and few of its sub-units have been equipped with zari testing facility to determine the purity of zari.
