Question : Subsidy Under PMUY

(a) the quantum of subsidy being provided to beneficiaries along with the State-wise details of LPG connections provided under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) since its inception till date;
(b) the details of targets fixed under PMUY across the country during the next two years, State-wise;
(c) whether the coverage of LPG connections has jumped from 55% in 2014 to 90% in 2019;
(d) the Budgetary allocation of PMUY during the last three years, year-wise;
(e) the Percentage of SCs/STs beneficiaries under the Scheme; and
(f) whether it is a fact that under the PMUY the average per capita consumption is 3.28?

(a) The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries get subsidy under PAHAL Scheme. The applicable subsidy is directly transferred into the bank account of beneficiaries. Effective 1st June 2019, the subsidy amount on domestic LPG in Delhi market is Rs 240.13 per 14.2 KG cylinder. As on 24.06.2019, Oil Marketing Companies have released more than 7.25 crore LPG connections under PMUY. State/UT-wise details are at Annexure.
(b) to (d) Year-wise details of targets fixed and achieved during the last three years are as under:-

As on 01.04.2014, national LPG coverage was 55.9 % and has increased to 94.2 % as on 01.06.2019.
(e) & (f) More than 41 % beneficiaries under PMUY are SCs/STs. OMCs have reported that the average per capita consumption of PMUY beneficiaries is around 4.87 cylinders.
