Question : Appointment of Notary Officers



(a) the total number of notaries State-wise and district-wise including the number of such districts where notary officers have not been appointed, State-wise including Uttar Pradesh;
(b) whether proposal has been received for the appointment of notary officers in district Kaushambi and district Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh;
(c) if so, the action taken thereon; and
(d) the time by which notary officers are likely to be appointed in those districts?

(a) State/UT-wise number of notaries along with the available vacancies is at Annexure-1. The Notaries Rules does not provide for district-wise vacancies and therefore, the department does not appoint notaries district-wise.
