Question : Six Laning of NHs

(a) whether the Government has taken up any project for development/six laning of national highways (NHs) in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise along with the present status of six laning of Ahmedabad-Vadodara national highway;

(c) the total number of stretches on which six laning of national highway was completed during the last three years, State-wise;

(d) the funds allocated and spent till date under the said projects; and

(e) the time by which the said projects are likely to be completed?

(a) to (b) 71 nos. of projects amounting to Rs. 68338.12 Crore having length 4955.42 km have been finalized for 6 laning of National Highways in the country. Six laning of Ahmedabad-Vadodara section of NH 8 consists six laning of Ahmedabad Vadodara section of NH-8 and improvement of Ahmedabad Vadodara Expressway (NE- 1) which was awarded to M/s IRB Ahmedabad Vadodara Super Express Tollway Private Limited on 28.04.2011. The present status of project is as under:

Length of project = 102.30 km
Total project Cost = 2125.24 Crores
Concession period = 25 years (till 31.12.2037)
Appointed date = 01.01.2013
Present status = Total length (102.300 km) completed except Narol flyover (at start point of the Highway) which is likely to be completed by 31.08.2017.

(c) to (e) 7 numbers of projects amounting to Rs 3989.66 Crores for six laning have been completed during the last three years and current year. And all the ongoing six laning projects are expected to be completed by July 2019
