(a) whether a large number of people are on the waiting list for LPG connections at Dhubri and Goalpara Districts of Assam;
(b) if so, the details of LPG agencles operating in the said districts and the number of persons on waiting list with them; and

(c) the time by which waiting lists for LPG connections are likely to be cleared ?

(a) to (c ): The total number of waiting list registered with the distributors of PSU Oil Companies in the Goalpara District is 600 and in Dhubri District is nil. There are 6 distributors in the both the districts. New connections are released in a phased manner throughout the country depending on the LPG availability, waiting list, slack available with the distributors and their viability. However, the Govt. has a plan to release one crore LPG connections during the year 2000 to clear all waiting list registered with the distributors of PSU Oil Companies as on 1-12-1999.
