Question : Compensation for Land beyond Fencing

(a) whether the farmers whose land lies across the barbed wire on the International Border in Punjab are to be paid compensation by the Government but no compensation has been paid to them for the last two years;

(b) if so, whether the Government will pay this compensation in a time bound manner in the near future; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c): Government of India has paid its share of compensation up to the year 2017 based on the demand received from Govt. of Punjab. The compensation for remaining period will be paid after receiving demand of Union of India’s share from State Government of Punjab.
