Question : RAIL PROJECTS IN RAJASTHAN



(a) the details of the new/on-going/ pending rail lines, gauge conversion, doubling, electrification projects and surveys in Rajasthan alongwith the progress made thereof, project-wise;

(b) the amount sanctioned and expenditure incurred on each of the project;

(c) the target fixed for completion of each of the project;

(d) whether some projects are lagging behind the schedule;

(e) if so, the reasons therefor;

(f) the steps taken by the Government for timely completion of these projects;

(g) whether the Government of Rajasthan has requested the Union Government for extra financial package for these projects; and

(h) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a)to(c) :

(i) The details of the new/on-going rail projects in Rajasthan alongwith cost of the project, allocation of funds, expenditure incurred, progress made and target date wherever fixed are given as under:-

1.Dausa-Gangapur City 208.83 15.3 10.00 Final location survey has been completed. Land acquisition papers for entire section submitted to State Govt. Rs. 5.70 crore deposited with State Govt for land acquisition. Work will be taken up once the land becomes available.

2.Ajmer-Pushkar 67.00 10.00 5.00 Final location survey has been completed and land acquisition papers submitted to State Govt. Rs. 9.90 crore deposited with State Govt. for land acquisition. Land is yet to be handed over by the State Government

3.Kolayat-Phalodi 163.93 6.00 80.00 Final location survey has been completed. (funds from Tenders for earthwork and bridges are under Ministry of finalisation. 620.67 hectare out of 628.15 Defence) hectare of land taken over. This project is funded by Ministry of Defence.

4.Ramganjmandi-Bhopal 425.00 18.58 20.00 Land acquisition papers has been submitted to State Govt. for7 villages out of which 10.88 hectare of land acquired. Work of geo-technical investigation of bridges, deep cutting and designing of major bridges is under progress.
Gauge Conversion
5.Agra-Bandikui 161.03 39.38 40.00 Work of all major bridges completed except bridge No. 67 which has to be done during mega block. Work of minor bridges is in progress. Bharatpur-Bandikui is targetted for completion during 2003-04. 6.Ajmer-Udaipur-Chittaurgarh including material modification for extension from Udaipur to Umra 455.18 65.82 30.00 Earthwork, bridge works and other works are in progress.

7Bhildi-Samdari 244.74 1.87 30.00 The detailed estimate has been sanctioned. Tenders for ballast supply and civil works for about 120 km. are under finalisation.

8.Luni-Barmer-Munabao 283.94 88.26 60.00 The entire section has been planned to be (Funds from opened in phases. The work from Luni to Ministry of Samdari has been completed and section Defence) commissioned on 14.12.2002. Samdari - Jasai section has also been completed and being commissioned shortly. In Jasai- Munabao section, earthwork, minor bridges and ballast collection is in progress. This section is planned for completion during 2003-04.

9.Pipar Road-Bilara 33.44 5.56 5.00 Detailed estimate has been sanctioned and preliminary arrangements have been taken up to take up the work. 10.Rewari-Sadulpur incl. Material modification from Sadulpur-Hissar 282.76 0.1 7.32 Final location survey has been completed. Tenders for earthwork and bridge work processed. 11.Sriganganagar-Sarupsar 106.09 0.09 4.83 Preliminary arrangements are being made to take up the work.

(d) to (f) : The works are progressing as per availability of resources. A number of initiatives have been taken to mobilise other than normal budgetary resources to expedite completion of ongoing projects.
